We started the Virginia Weidler Remembrance Society Facebook page in July 2012. An earlier page was on Turner Classic Movies’ Classic Film Union site until TCM chose to shutter that venue. Facebook became the mother ship for VWRS activity almost at once, as people started joining me from all over the world to celebrate and talk about Virginia Weidler, her cast mates, studio mates, and even her brothers and sisters. It still is.
We love these new digs, especially the opportunity to post her filmography, neat photos and screen captures, and present a biography that I think will set the record straight on Ginny’s story as one of a happy life and not just a story of what wasn’t once I finish writing it.
Still, the Facebook crowd gets to discuss things at once, try to solve little mysteries that arise from our research and even play with silly quizzes one or another of us comes up with. And now that we’re over 900 strong, there is always somebody around to comment.
If you like Virginia, or are simply interested in films of the period, please considered joining us at Facebook and giving the VWRS page a ‘like’.
We promise to ‘like’ you back.
